The 166th Mississippi State Fair, running October 2–13, 2025, in Jackson, is introducing enhanced security with a clear bag policy, metal detectors, and age verification for attendees under 18 after 9 p.m. on all days, requiring adult supervision. Only clear bags under 12"x12"x6" are allowed, with exceptions for diaper and medical bags. Law enforcement and emergency agencies are collaborating on safety, while traffic improvements include the opening of the Pascagoula Street I-55 exit. Free admission is available for military members on Mondays and first responders on Fridays, with free access to the Two Mississippi Museums daily.
