A man died and six others were hospitalized after a swimming accident in Western Australia’s Moore River during school holidays.
A 38-year-old man died and six others, including four children, were hospitalized after a group entered the Moore River near Guilderton, Western Australia, on Tuesday morning.
Emergency services responded around 10:45 a.m. after reports of swimmers in distress, with bystanders rescuing all seven before help arrived.
The man, believed to have slipped into deeper water, was unresponsive and could not be revived despite CPR and use of a defibrillator.
The others received treatment on-site and were transported to hospitals, with some in stable condition.

A coroner’s report will be prepared, and the cause remains under investigation.
