Jarrod Bringolf sentenced to 2–3.5 years for violent domestic attack with weapons and threats.
Jarrod Paul Bringolf, 30, was sentenced to a minimum of two years in prison after pleading guilty to multiple domestic violence charges in Wollongong Local Court.
The October 2024 incident involved him assaulting his partner with weapons, threatening to burn her alive, and attempting to ignite her with a lighter after spraying her with cleaning product.
He had previously been subject to a restraining order and contacted her from jail to pressure her to withdraw her statement.
Prosecutors called the crimes "abhorrent," and the magistrate cited a pattern of violence, high risk of reoffending, and guarded prospects for rehabilitation.
Bringolf received a maximum sentence of three and a half years with a two-year non-parole period, making him eligible for parole in October 2026.
