Indian wood and furniture exporters are poised to gain a competitive edge in the U.S. market after President Trump imposed a 10% global tariff on softwood lumber, upholstered furniture, and kitchen cabinets on September 29, 2025. The reduced rate, down from previous levels, is expected to boost Indian exports, which reached $654.8 million in fiscal year 2025, particularly in kitchen cabinets and upholstered furniture, according to GTRI.
