Gabon’s Democratic Union of Builders, led by President Gen. Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, won 55 of 145 seats in the first round of legislative elections since the 2023 coup, marking a major shift from the former Bongo dynasty.
The former ruling Gabonese Democratic Party (PDG) won just three seats, with joint UDB-PDG tickets capturing four.
