Eagles linebacker Nakobe Dean, recovering from patellar knee surgery, is on track to return to practice this week or next, according to coach Vic Fangio.
Dean, who missed the first four games after tearing his patellar tendon in January’s playoff loss, started all 15 games in 2024 with 128 tackles and three sacks.
His potential return would bolster a defense dealing with injuries, including Nolan Smith and Jakorian Bennett on injured reserve.
While first-round rookie Jihaad Campbell and veteran Zack Baun have stepped up, Fangio said Dean’s role remains undefined, and the team will assess how to manage its linebacker depth.
Dean must be activated within 21 days of the four-game mark or risk missing the season.
