Crypto prices fell Tuesday amid shutdown fears, but Bitcoin and Ethereum still ended Q3 higher.
Cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin, Ethereum, Dogecoin, and XRP declined on Tuesday amid concerns over a potential government shutdown, mirroring losses in stock futures.
Bitcoin ended at $114,266, down 0.27%, while Ethereum fell 1.60% to $4,147.56.
XRP and Solana also dropped, with trading volume and open interest decreasing.
Over $418 million in crypto positions were liquidated, mostly longs, yet more than half of top Binance Bitcoin traders remained long, indicating underlying bullish sentiment.
Despite the short-term dip, both Bitcoin and Ethereum were set to finish the third quarter higher, with gains of 6.31% and 66% respectively.
An analyst suggested the market could begin trending upward again in the coming days.
