Dan Gladman, a 32-year-old sprinter from Warrington, finished seventh in the T64 100m final at the World Championships in New Delhi, marking his international debut.
He recorded 11.39 seconds in the final, just shy of his personal best of 11.30 set in the heats.
Gladman, who only began serious competition in January of the previous year, said the event was mentally and physically taxing, with his body not responding as expected in the final despite strong preparation.
A web developer and recent husband, he plans to rest before returning to training, aiming for the 2028 Paralympics in Los Angeles.
The British team, supported by sponsor Novuna, continues competing in New Delhi.
