Brantford native Isabel Simmons, 26, works as an aerodynamicist for Williams Racing, a top Formula 1 team in England, since January 2024. Originally studying life sciences, she switched to mechanical engineering and earned a master’s in aerospace engineering with a focus on computational aerodynamics. She now contributes to car development, including beam wings and the rear diffuser for next year’s model. The team finished third in the Baku City Circuit race on September 21, 2025, a milestone she called rewarding. Williams Racing, with over 1,300 employees, is one of F1’s most successful teams, having won 16 world titles, and hosts STEM Enrichment Days to encourage youth in science and engineering.
