Adam Montunnas, 48, remains at large after allegedly attacking a domestic violence victim in Bethel, Ohio, following a silent 911 call and distress text. Police arrived to find him assaulting the woman in a basement bathroom, forcing his way in and attempting to strangle her before fleeing upstairs. Officers entered through a sliding door but lost contact during a standoff, prompting a SWAT response. By 1:15 a.m., SWAT entered the home to find Montunnas had already escaped. Authorities believe he fled before police arrived, possibly exploiting initial inadequate response. He was out on a $7,500 cash-only bond after an Aug. 19 arrest for similar charges and violated a court order. Two guns were found in the home, but he is not believed to be currently armed or a public threat. Police urge anyone with information to call 911.
