Abuja’s ongoing road projects, including a new 2-kilometre Access Arterial Road and bridge in Kaura District, are central to Nigeria’s bid to host the 2030 Commonwealth Games, according to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
The upgrades aim to improve emergency response times, support local employment, and enhance infrastructure critical for attracting the international event.
The project is part of President Bola Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which includes other major road developments.
FCT Minister of State Mariya Mahmoud said the improvements will boost public safety, economic growth, and quality of life in the area.
