YouTube pays Trump $22M to settle suspension lawsuit over Jan. 6, no fault admitted.
YouTube has agreed to pay Donald Trump $22 million as part of a $24.5 million settlement to resolve his lawsuit over his suspension following the January 6 Capitol riot, bringing total tech company payouts to over $57 million.
The settlement, which includes $2.5 million for co-plaintiffs, does not involve an admission of fault.
Trump’s account was suspended in January 2021 and remained offline until March 2023, longer than Twitter and Meta.
He plans to direct the funds to the Trust for the National Mall and a proposed White House ballroom.
