A 26-year-old ex-influencer is headed to prison after defrauding clients of over £420,000 with fake luxury handbag sales.
Jack Watkin, a 26-year-old former social media influencer from Cheshire, is facing a significant prison sentence after being convicted of defrauding clients of over £420,000 through a scheme involving high-demand Hermes handbags.
Once known for his lavish lifestyle and appearance in a Channel 4 documentary, Watkin, despite being unemployed and financially destitute, used his privileged image and influencer status to convince victims to pay large sums for rare bags he never delivered or resold at inflated prices.
The fraud, centered on the competitive secondary market for luxury goods, targeted individuals including business owners and friends, many of whom lost significant money.
Watkin, who admitted six counts of fraud, is set to be sentenced and will serve time at HMP Altcourse, a high-security prison in Merseyside.
