A 19-year-old blind British runner placed 11th in the World Championships 1500m, calling it a motivating step toward the 2028 Paralympics.
Arthur Milles, a 19-year-old visually impaired athlete from St. Mary’s Richmond Athletics Club, finished 11th in the T13 1500m at the World Championships in New Delhi with a time of 4:12.92.
Racing in hot, humid conditions at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, he struggled after being jostled early, a challenge he attributed to the physical contact common in visually impaired events.
Despite the setback, Milles called the experience motivating and valuable, praising fellow athletes and viewing it as a step toward the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics.
He is set to begin a Natural Sciences degree at Durham University and is supported by British Athletics and sponsor Novuna.
