Around 8,000 Collect+ stores across the UK are rebranding to Royal Mail Shops after International Distribution Services (IDS) invested £43.9 million for a 49% stake, valuing the network at £90 million.
The change, already underway at 500 locations, allows customers to buy Royal Mail postage in person for the first time, alongside parcel services and extended hours.
Self-service kiosks will launch in early 2026.
The move follows IDS’s shift from letter delivery, with Royal Mail set to discontinue Saturday second-class mail, switching to every-other-weekday service.
IDS, now owned by Czech billionaire Daniel Kretinsky’s EP Group, marks the first foreign ownership of Royal Mail in over 500 years.
The rebranding aims to boost convenience and strengthen parcel operations amid changing consumer habits.
