Smriti Mandhana leads India’s Women’s World Cup push, aiming to break records with standout ODI form.

Ahead of India’s ICC Women’s World Cup opener against Sri Lanka, star batter Smriti Mandhana stressed focusing on team processes amid high expectations. In outstanding form, she has scored 928 runs in 14 ODIs this year, including four centuries and a top score of 135, needing just 43 more runs to surpass Belinda Clark’s record for most runs in a women’s ODI calendar year. With 4,888 runs in 108 ODIs and 13 centuries, she is two short of matching Meg Lanning’s record for most international centuries by a woman. Mandhana also recently became the fastest Indian to a century in ODIs, following strong performances against Australia. India’s squad, led by Harmanpreet Kaur and with Mandhana as vice-captain, includes key players like Jemimah Rodrigues, Deepti Sharma, and Richa Ghosh.
