A Singapore court acquitted a 74-year-old man and his ex-partner of all 13 abuse charges due to lack of credible evidence.
A Singaporean court has acquitted a 74-year-old former temple practitioner and his 66-year-old ex-partner of all charges related to alleged sexual abuse of their daughter, ruling that the prosecution failed to prove the claims beyond a reasonable doubt.
Justice Pang Khang Chau found inconsistencies in the complainant’s testimony, questioned the credibility of key evidence including a police demonstration, and noted that a massage bed central to the allegations was not available until late 2013, undermining claims of abuse before that time.
The judge also found the alleged five-second penetration implausible given physical constraints and dismissed claims of intentional pornography exposure, citing the girl’s own access to devices.
With no credible evidence supporting the core allegations, all 13 charges, including sexual assault, molestation, and conspiracy, were dismissed.
The couple, who are no longer together, showed no visible reaction upon being cleared.
