Singapore authorities intercepted over 9,200 vape pods hidden in a cargo container declared as power banks at the Pasir Panjang Scanning Station on September 17.
A 25-year-old Singaporean man was arrested the following day and found with 85 additional vape devices and components.
The seized items, valued at over $51,000, were part of a smuggling operation involving ICA, SPF, and HSA.
Under new anti-vape laws effective September 1, first-time offenders face fines up to $10,000 and up to six months in jail, with harsher penalties for repeat offenses.
