A collection of about 1,000 vintage telephones, amassed by Reverend John Baines, is set to be auctioned on October 6 in Lichfield, Staffordshire, following his death at age 56. The phones, spanning the 1930s to the 2000s, include domestic, office, military, and exchange models, with notable items like Bakelite and candlestick designs, novelty shapes, and equipment from brands such as GPO, Bell, and Ericsson. The sale also features typewriters, a 1950s copying machine, computer gear, and a photo archive of early 20th-century telephonists. The entire collection is expected to sell for $6,716.
