Paul Hennessy, a Bathurst resident, has been named Central West Volunteer of the Year and Central West Adult Volunteer of the Year, recognizing his over 50 years of service.
Starting with Scouts Australia at age eight, he became a leader and later served as justice of the peace, RSL Club director, and cathedral parish volunteer.
In 1990, he received a Silver Cross for Bravery for saving a boy from a train.
Honored as a Bathurst Living Legend in 2025, Hennessy, who has volunteered hundreds of thousands of hours, will represent the region at the NSW Volunteer of the Year Awards in December, driven by a lifelong commitment to community.
