A coordinated human trafficking crackdown across Ohio, known as Operation Next Door, resulted in 135 arrests from September 22 to 26, 2025, with 32 charged on felony counts and 103 arrested for soliciting sex.
Led by Attorney General Dave Yost’s Ohio Organized Crime Investigations Commission, over 100 agencies targeted prostitution and illicit massage parlors in Toledo, Cleveland, Akron, and other areas, executing nine search warrants and seizing $62,000.
Sixty-seven trafficking survivors were referred to care services.
The operation highlighted that trafficking often occurs in plain sight, involving individuals from various backgrounds, including a priest, former officer, and teacher.
Ohio continues to push for stronger anti-trafficking laws, including House Bill 47, while urging the public to report suspected cases via the National Human Trafficking Hotline.
