MODEC starts building Hammerhead FPSO in Guyana post-ExxonMobil’s 2025 investment decision, targeting 2029 startup.
MODEC has begun full-scale work on the Hammerhead FPSO in Guyana after ExxonMobil’s September 2025 final investment decision, following regulatory approvals.
The company, awarded the full EPCI contract, completed the FEED phase and is now preparing for execution.
The FPSO, designed for 150,000 barrels of oil per day at 1,025 meters depth using SOFEC’s mooring system, will be the second MODEC FPSO in Guyana, following the Uaru project.
It will include 10 years of operations and maintenance services starting at first oil, with startup expected in 2029 pending approvals.
The project strengthens MODEC’s strategic partnership with ExxonMobil Guyana.
