McLachlan College in Oakville, Ont., has launched a high-performance sport climbing program led by international boulderers Zach and Madison Richardson, who are coaching student-athletes while balancing their own competition schedules.
The program, which began in early September, builds on the school’s existing climbing club and aims to develop elite talent for future international competition, including the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Based in Montreal for its climbing infrastructure, the Richardsons commute to Oakville, with Jan Stevenson, a veteran coach with global experience, serving as head coach.
