A Madison security officer fatally attacked near Camp Randall Stadium on Sept. 20 has died, and his suspect remains jailed.

A man who suffered critical injuries in a targeted, unprovoked attack near Camp Randall Stadium in Madison, Wisconsin, on September 20 has died, UW-Madison police confirmed. The victim, a security officer, was assaulted in a parking lot on Breese Terrace around 2 a.m. Keith Jones, a former co-worker who was off-duty but in uniform, was arrested the same day and remains in jail on charges including aggravated battery, robbery, and probation violation. Authorities have referred the case to the Dane County District Attorney’s Office for possible first-degree intentional homicide charges. The victim’s identity has not been released.
