India keeps small savings rates unchanged for Q4 2025, maintaining stability for savers.
The Indian government has kept interest rates unchanged on major small savings schemes, including PPF, NSC, SCSS, and KVP, for the October–December 2025 quarter, marking the seventh consecutive quarter without a change.
Rates remain at 7.1% for PPF, 8.2% for SCSS and SSY, 7.7% for NSC, 7.4% for POMIS, and 7.5% for KVP, with fixed and recurring deposits ranging from 6.7% to 7.5%.
The decision follows a 1% repo rate cut by the RBI, but rates are tied to government bond yields and the Shyamala Gopinath Committee’s formula.
The move provides stability for millions of savers, especially retirees and low- to moderate-income households relying on predictable returns.
