Haringey Council added two school streets in Tottenham to boost safety and reduce pollution during school hours.
Haringey Council has expanded its school street initiative, implementing traffic bans on two more streets near Bounds Green Infants and Juniors School and Welbourne Primary in Tottenham, effective September 3.
Restrictions apply during morning and afternoon school hours, allowing only pedestrians, cyclists, and vehicles with exemption permits.
The move is part of a plan to create 35 school street zones across the borough, covering nearly 13 kilometers of roads and benefiting about 44 schools.
The goal is to improve safety, reduce congestion and pollution, and promote walking, cycling, and scooting to school.
Residents and businesses in the zones can apply for free exemption permits online.
