Ghana’s marketing body urges government to mandate qualified marketers on public boards to boost economy and global image.
The Chartered Institute of Marketing, Ghana (CIMG) has urged the government to implement a national policy requiring qualified marketing professionals on public sector boards to boost Ghana’s global brand and economic growth.
Speaking at the 36th Annual Marketing Performance Awards in Accra, CIMG President Michael Abbiw emphasized marketing’s role in national development, calling for incentives to support staff certification and announcing a new league table to rank organizations investing in marketing capacity.
The event honored Dr. James Orleans-Lindsay and Mansa Nettey as top marketing leaders, recognized several companies for excellence, and inducted Melcom Ghana into the Hall of Fame.
Chief of Staff Julius Debrah affirmed that effective marketing is vital to advancing Ghana’s 24-hour economy and national reset agenda.
