74% of finance pros consider quitting due to repetitive tasks, costing U.S. firms $1.4T yearly.
A new study by Medius finds that 74% of finance professionals in the U.S. and U.K. are considering quitting due to repetitive work, with most losing focus after just 41 minutes, leading to costly errors like misdirected documents and missed fraud signals.
On average, finance workers spend over 3.5 hours daily on tasks that could be automated—equating to more than 23 workweeks per year—costing U.S. firms an estimated $1.4 trillion annually in lost productivity and turnover.
Despite only 38% of workloads being automated, 77% believe automation would reduce burnout, and most say they’d use extra time for strategic tasks like data analysis and planning.
The findings highlight a growing push toward AI tools like Medius Supplier Conversations to streamline workflows, improve accuracy, and retain talent.
