The first Xingsha-Africa Coffee Carnival launched on September 30, 2025, in Changsha, Hunan, marking a new push to strengthen China-Africa economic ties through coffee.
It coincided with the opening of the Hunan (Changsha) Coffee Industrial Park within the China (Hunan) Pilot Free Trade Zone’s airport area, a hub for importing, processing, and distributing African coffee beans.
The park aims to streamline China’s coffee supply chain.
Also launched was the Xingsha International Communication Center.
Ten industry projects were signed involving Chinese and African firms in processing, trade, and branding.
The event, running through October 3, included a coffee industry salon, business matchmaking, and a roasting competition.
