Ambac to buy ArmadaCare for $250M, boosting its health insurance platform.
Ambac Financial Group has agreed to acquire ArmadaCare, a supplemental health insurance program manager, from SiriusPoint for $250 million.
The deal, expected to close in the fourth quarter of 2025, will strengthen Ambac’s distribution platform and specialty product offerings, with the acquisition projected to be accretive to shareholders by 2026. Financing includes cash on hand and a $120 million debt commitment from Truist Bank.
ArmadaCare’s CEO Ed Walker will continue leading the business, and a new five-year partnership with SiriusPoint is set to begin.
The transaction, which requires regulatory approval, aligns with Ambac’s strategy to become a pure-play managing general agent and supports its 2028 EBITDA targets.
