A 23-year-old man, Huang Guang Zheng, was charged on September 29, 2025, with voluntarily causing hurt after allegedly striking a man on the head with a walking stick at St Andrew’s Cathedral in Singapore on October 25, 2023.
The charge adds to 21 previous ones, including assaults on a priest and multiple public disturbances since 2023.
Huang, who is visually impaired and has special needs, has been linked to 13 alleged incidents involving violence or disruptive behavior across various locations.
During his court appearance, he became disruptive, prompting his mother to request leniency due to his emotional distress.
The judge granted an adjournment and allowed Huang to skip future hearings.
The case is set for further hearing on November 10, 2025.
Penalties for the charge include up to three years in prison and a fine of up to $5,000.
