A 17-year-old girl in Uttar Pradesh was allegedly shot dead by her father and brother in a suspected honor killing linked to her relationship with a local boy, police said.
The incident occurred on September 28 in Ambehta village, where the teenager was taken to the upper floor of their home and fatally shot.
The father confessed, claiming the relationship damaged the family’s reputation.
An FIR has been filed under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, both suspects have been arrested, and the weapon recovered.
The body was sent for post-mortem.
In a separate case in Madhya Pradesh, a 19-year-old girl’s body was found in a river, wrapped in plastic and weighted with stones, after she went missing on September 23.
Her father was arrested and confessed to shooting her over an inter-caste relationship, though initial claims of a fan accident and suicide were contradicted by forensic evidence.
