A Queensland bull sale drew strong demand, selling 124 of 135 bulls for $1.08 million, with two bulls topping at $23,000 each.
The third annual Ray White Barcaldine Bull Sale in Queensland offered 135 bulls—double last year’s number—with 124 selling at a 92% clearance rate, grossing $1.08 million and averaging $8,700 per bull.
Two bulls tied for top price at $23,000 each: a red Simmental bull and a Charolais bull, both double-polled and weighing 896 kg.
The Simmental bull, bought by Neil and Karen Gibson, will be used as a terminal sire over their Droughtmaster cows.
The second-highest sale was $19,000 for another Simmental bull, while a Simbrah topped its section at $10,000.
Boonderoo Pastoral Company was the top volume buyer, acquiring 10 bulls at an average of $6,100.
Ray White’s Bill Seeney reported strong buyer interest and vendor satisfaction, highlighting the sale’s growing success.
