Pakistan is seeking support from Kingston, Canada, to fund the construction of a new cancer hospital in Karachi, set to open in December 2026.
The Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, partnering with CERF, will host a gala dinner on October 5 to raise funds.
The 400-bed facility, part of a network founded after Imran Khan’s mother died of cancer, aims to provide free treatment in regions with limited healthcare access, where over 125,000 people die annually from the disease.
Kingston-based fundraiser Noman Hussain, whose family emigrated from Karachi, is leading the effort, with support from local officials and international figures like cricketer Shoaib Akhtar.
Tickets are $75, and donations are accepted through CERF Canada.
