On September 28, 2025, over 5,000 police and peace officers, along with family members and civilians, gathered on Parliament Hill in Ottawa for the 48th annual Canadian Police and Peace Officers’ Memorial Service.
The event honored 912 officers whose names are inscribed on memorial tablets, including three historical additions.
No officers died in the line of duty in 2024, a rare occurrence noted during the ceremony.
Participants marched from the Supreme Court to Parliament Hill under sunny skies, with flags at half-mast and speeches from federal officials and the Canadian Police Association.
The day, established in 1998, serves as a national tribute to fallen officers’ sacrifice, dedication, and the lasting impact on their families and communities.
