Nigeria to require all graduates to submit academic work to national database for NYSC eligibility starting Oct. 6, 2025.
Nigeria will require all graduates, including those from foreign institutions, to prove compliance with the National Education Repository and Databank (NERD) policy before being mobilized into or exempted from the National Youth Service Corps (NYSC), starting October 6, 2025.
The move, approved by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and based on the NYSC Act, mandates submission of academic works like theses and project reports to a national digital repository to combat certificate fraud, preserve intellectual assets, and improve academic quality.
The policy, effective since March 2025, requires full details including student and supervisor information, with public visibility of supervisory roles intended to promote accountability and higher standards in Nigerian higher education.
Nigeria exigirá a todos los graduados que envíen trabajos académicos a la base de datos nacional para la elegibilidad del NYSC a partir del 6 de octubre de 2025.
