Mineral Resources fixed a $230M Pilbara road, ending delays and boosting iron exports.
Mineral Resources has completed a $230 million upgrade to its Pilbara haul road, fixing structural issues that caused seven accidents and delayed operations since October 2024.
The 150-kilometre road, linking the Ken’s Bore mine to Ashburton Port, was repaved with improved sealant, cement-stabilized, and widened to 11 metres.
Road trains are now operating at normal speeds, and the Onslow Iron project remains on track to reach its 35 million tonnes annual capacity, having shipped 3.2 million tonnes in August.
The project continues to be a low-cost, cash-generating asset, supporting company stability.
A 49% stake in the haul road was sold to Morgan Stanley Infrastructure Partners for $1.1 billion in September 2024.
