India launches AI-powered DSS with GIS and real-time data to boost border security and predict threats.
India’s Border Security Force has launched a Decision Support System (DSS) integrating GIS, AI, and real-time sensor data to enhance border security.
Inaugurated by Director General Daljit Singh Chawdhary, the system provides commanders with role-based dashboards offering a real-time operating picture, enabling predictive analysis of smuggling and infiltration risks.
It combines legacy data, incident records, and live feeds to improve decision-making and resource allocation.
Future upgrades will link the DSS to other command centers, the Central Integrated Border Management System, and security force GIS platforms, with plans to include mobile reporting, open-source intelligence, big data, and weather data.
The initiative aims to strengthen India’s border defense capabilities.
