Five Tibetan women mapped over 800 cultural relics across northern Xizang’s remote high-altitude villages in 2024.
In 2024, a team of five young Tibetan women launched a cultural preservation mission in Nagchu, Xizang, surveying over 100 villages across 11 counties at altitudes above 4,500 meters.
Despite extreme weather, rugged terrain, and encounters with wildlife, they documented more than 800 immovable cultural relics using drones and advanced surveying tools.
Working in remote areas, often staying with herders, the team has helped fill critical gaps in regional heritage records, strengthening understanding of northern Xizang’s history and cultural legacy.
