China's Long March 2D rocket completed its 100th successful launch on September 29, 2025, deploying two experimental satellites, Shiyan 30A and 30B, into orbit from Sichuan's Xichang Launch Center.
The 40.6-meter rocket, developed by the Shanghai Academy of Spaceflight Technology, has maintained a perfect record since its 1992 debut, carrying 316 satellites for domestic and international clients.
It is capable of placing up to 1.3 tons into sun-synchronous orbit or 4 tons into low-Earth orbit.
The mission marked the 598th launch in China’s Long March series and the country’s 60th launch of 2025.
