Bana Kattan, a native of Abu Dhabi and curator at Guggenheim Abu Dhabi, has been named curator of the UAE’s National Pavilion for the 2026 Venice Art Biennale.
Selected by a committee of UAE cultural leaders, she will lead the country’s 15th overall participation and ninth in the International Art Exhibition, with the presentation running from May to November 2026 under the theme “In Minor Keys.” Kattan, known for her work on displacement, identity, and multigenerational Arab artists, brings extensive experience from institutions including the Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago and NYU Abu Dhabi Art Gallery.
Her appointment highlights the UAE’s commitment to showcasing diverse artistic voices on the global stage, with a dedicated publication accompanying the exhibition.
