A 73-year-old woman, Phyllis Hensley, died in a head-on crash on State Highway 29 in Garvin County, Oklahoma, late Saturday night, September 27, 2025, around 8:42 p.m., about 2.5 miles east of Elmore City. She was traveling westbound when her vehicle crossed into the opposite lane and collided with another car driven by an 83-year-old man, who sustained injuries but was not in critical condition. In a separate incident early Sunday morning on U.S. 177 in Payne County, a 17-year-old motorcyclist and a 78-year-old female driver were killed in a head-on collision after the teen, traveling at high speed without headlights, struck a curb and swerved into oncoming traffic. The crash occurred just before 12:20 a.m. and remains under investigation.
