Sinopec launched a 1,500-km hydrogen truck journey across China, expanding its clean energy network.
Sinopec has advanced China’s hydrogen mobility with a 1,500-kilometer journey using three hydrogen-powered logistics vehicles along a new Yangtze River corridor from Shanghai to Yichang, refueling at six Sinopec stations across five provinces.
This milestone expands Sinopec’s network to five intercity hydrogen corridors, forming a broader hydrogen axis and supporting long-distance clean transport.
The company operates 146 hydrogen stations and 11 supply centers across all designated pilot city clusters, making it the world’s largest hydrogen station operator.
With annual hydrogen production capacity of 4.45 million tons, Sinopec is advancing clean hydrogen infrastructure through projects including wind-solar hydrogen in Inner Mongolia, a seawater-to-hydrogen pilot in Qingdao, and a large-scale cross-provincial pipeline project in Ulanqab.
Its 'Hydrogen Highway' initiative, aligned with China’s State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, aims to expand refueling networks along national highways and promote a sustainable hydrogen economy.
