Ruzhdi won gold in men’s shot put F55, set a world record, and extended his winning streak to six.
Bulgarian athlete Ruzhdi won his sixth straight gold in men’s shot put F55 at the World Para Athletics Championships, setting a new world record with a 12.94-meter throw, extending his winning streak since 2015.
Competing from a seated position due to paralysis from a past car accident, he outperformed Serbia’s Nebojsa Duric, who took silver with 12.52 meters.
Malaysia’s Abdul Latif Romly claimed his third consecutive long jump T20 gold with a world record of 7.67 meters, while Ukraine’s Volodymyr Ponomarenko broke the men’s shot put T12 record at 17.39 meters.
Algeria’s Nassima Saifi won her third straight discus throw F57 title with a best throw of 34.54 meters, and Switzerland’s Catherine Debrunner took gold in the women’s 5000m T54.
