A man was charged after a police chase ended with his arrest at a Perth supermarket, where he was found with weapons, drugs, and a knife.
A 30-year-old man from Armadale has been charged with multiple weapons, drug, and evasion offenses after a police chase through Perth’s southern suburbs ended in a Kardinya supermarket.
The incident began midday when officers tried to stop him for erratic driving in a black Audi, which he abandoned after driving on the wrong side of the road and onto a footpath.
Police tracked the vehicle to Booragoon shopping center, where he left a duffel bag containing a sawn-off rifle, ammunition, a homemade taser, and a pocket knife.
He was arrested around 4:20 p.m. at a South Street supermarket after resisting arrest, allegedly carrying a knife and methamphetamine.
He faces charges including possession of prohibited weapons, reckless driving to evade police, unlawful firearm and ammunition possession, drug possession, obstructing officers, and carrying an edged weapon.
Remanded in custody, he is due in Fremantle Magistrates Court for a follow-up hearing.
