Maharashtra CM visits flood-hit areas; thousands evacuated, rescued, and aided with relief.
Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis reviewed flood conditions in Jalna, Latur, and Solapur on September 28, 2025, amid ongoing heavy rains in Marathwada.
In Jalna, 26 revenue circles experienced heavy rainfall, 48 of 51 water projects overflowed, 225 people were relocated, 52 rescued, and nine fatalities reported since June.
Latur saw evacuations in multiple areas, over 500 people in relief camps, and 60 submerged roads or bridges cleared, with NDRF on standby.
In Solapur, 4,002 people rescued and nearly 6,500 in relief camps with food, water, and medical care, supported by the Akshaya Patra Foundation.
The government provided Rs 10,000 cash, 10 kg rice, and 10 kg wheat per family, arranged fodder for livestock, and launched damage assessments.
Relief cells at district and taluka levels are being formed, health camps are planned, and support is coming from the Naam Foundation and local leaders.
