Louisiana Tech defeated UTEP 30-11 in a defensive showcase, forcing five interceptions and returning two for touchdowns. Blake Baker threw a 5-yard TD pass to Marques Singleton Jr. and connected with Jakari Foster and Alonzo Jackson, who each returned interceptions for scores, including a 67-yard and a 23-yard pick-6. Clay Thevenin added a 4-yard TD run. Baker finished 18-of-26 for 137 yards with one interception, while UTEP’s Malachi Nelson threw four picks. Louisiana Tech improved to 4-1 overall and 2-0 in Conference USA, while UTEP fell to 1-4 and 0-1 in conference play.
