Indian drugmakers recall U.S. products over safety and quality issues, but India still leads as a top FDA-compliant supplier.

Indian pharmaceutical companies Glenmark, Granules India, Sun Pharma, Zydus, and Unichem are recalling various U.S. products due to manufacturing issues, impurities, degradation, or labeling errors, according to the U.S. FDA. Recalls range from Class I, the most serious, due to potential for serious health consequences, to Class III, with minimal risk. The actions were initiated voluntarily by the companies' U.S. subsidiaries. Despite these recalls, India remains the top non-U.S. source of FDA-compliant pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities.
