As October begins, Canada’s “Circular Economy Month” urges residents to recycle old electronics like phones, TVs, and computers to reduce e-waste and recover valuable materials.
The free Recycle My Electronics program, funded by an Environmental Handling Fee paid at purchase, offers over 2,500 drop-off locations nationwide, including retail stores and municipal facilities, with most Canadians within a 30-minute drive.
Users can find nearby sites via RecycleMyElectronics.ca, erase personal data with a factory reset, and help prevent pollution while supporting resource conservation.
The program has already recycled more than 1.4 million metric tonnes of electronics, equivalent to a truck line from Victoria to St. John’s and back.
