Two people died and another was critically injured in a collision on the Soesdyke-Linden Highway near Loo Creek early Thursday morning.
A pickup truck, PAE 6499, driven by Da Tai Lei, 54, struck a parked lorry, GAH 5391, which had been left unattended by driver Liston Marcus, 31, after mechanical issues around 10:50 p.m.
The lorry lacked warning lights or reflectors.
Da Tai Lei and Edward Singh, 87, both from Lethem, were pronounced dead at Linden Hospital Complex.
Wen Wu Lei, 41, another passenger, remains in serious condition.
The truck driver is in custody and cooperating with the investigation, which is examining speed, visibility, and vehicle maintenance.
